Kate's entire legal career is dedicated to the protection of the rights of children and parents. In various positions she has worked for the past 15 years representing children and parents who have become involved in our legal system, including but not limited to our juvenile court system. She has been involved in over 500 cases where she has been tasked with investigating and making determinations specific to substance abuse, sex abuse, domestic violence, mental illness and much more.

Kate started her legal career at the Arapahoe County Attorney's office, in cases specific to Colorado's Dependency and Neglect, Mental Health and Probate system.

 

Kate attended Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington, where she was involved as a CASA child advocate volunteer, and where she chaired the juvenile law club. After graduating and becoming licensed as an attorney in the State of Colorado, Kate went on to be a Guardian ad Litem and Respondent Parent Counsel in numerous jurisdictions in the metro area. Kate's unique perspective comes from working on all sides of child protection issues.  Today, she handles cases in family court, juvenile court, probate court, as well as education law matters, and collaborative law and mediation/non-litigation efforts.
